On the side hangs an 18kt yellow gold leaf that houses a beautiful Ethiopian welo opal. Opals are especially loved for their famous play of colors - variegated flashes of color that change when the stone is viewed from a different angle and occur only in opals. The natural beauty of a petal was reduced to a minimal design in a recognizable shape.

The colors of Tahiti pearls can range from deep black, gray, bronze, peacock, eggplant, blue, white to pistachio or golden green. This exquisite pearl necklace is composed of a beautiful palette of Tahitian pearls ranging from cream, champagne, blue, bronze and green.
Like South Sea pearls, Tahitian pearls are saltwater pearls and are generally larger than traditional Chinese freshwater pearls. Only one pearl is grown per clam.
Tahiti pearls are grown in the black-lipped Pinctada margaritifera in and around Tahiti and the French Polynesian Islands. These oysters grow to 15 cm, exceptionally 20 cm in diameter. The harvested pearls are usually 8 mm to 16 mm.

After the pandemic, these are challenging times for many pearl farmers.
As a result, many pearl farms In Tahiti are disappearing which also reduces the amount of pearls available.
Especially the larger Tahitian pearls are hard to find as well as pearls of exceptional quality with special colors.
