Eekhout is located in a side street of Ghent's small ring road (R40) and is easily accessible by car. If you come by train, get off at the Gent Sint Pieters stop and take tram 1 towards the centre or walk through the Citadelpark.
I only work within my recognisable style, but of course I take your wishes into account. However, copying jewellery by other designers or jewellery brands I do not do.
Can I have my old gold jewellery worked into a new piece?
Yes, old gold family jewellery can be transformed into contemporary jewellery. Gems and pearls from your existing pieces can also be reused.
What happens if I turn in my old gold?
When you have a new piece of jewellery made or purchased, your old gold can be handed in. Its value will then be deducted from the total bill.
Which gold can be reworked?
Only heavy, solid yellow gold jewellery can be remelted and processed into a new jewel. Thin chains or light pieces will not be remelted, but the value will be settled.
White gold jewellery is also not remelted, but here too the value is deducted.
Yes, I am happy to create a new bespoke piece of jewellery using your old gold.
For price calculations, I always start from the new price of the gem, i.e. what it would cost with new gold, including all working hours, design and finishing. That is my basis, because even with your gold, we are talking about a completely new and handmade piece.
By the way, your gold is not simply reused 1 to 1. It has to be analysed, smelted, purified and sometimes replenished to be usable. This requires craftsmanship and incurs costs.
Of course, you do not pay double: I deduct the current value of your gold from the new price. This way, you only pay the difference, and the price calculation remains transparent and fair, for everyone, with or without old gold.
For customisation, I work exclusively in 18ct gold. To have gold jewellery creations made, you can choose from
- 18 ct yellow gold
- 18kt rose gold
- 18kt white gold
This varies from piece to piece as each piece of jewellery is a unique piece with a special challenge. Delivery time is usually 5 to 8 weeks.
Send an e-mail to info@mariebenedicte.com indicating that you wish to pay by bank.
Of course you can, as all my jewellery creations are unique pieces, the jewellery will be kept on option for a while and removed from the webshop. It is best to send an e-mail to info@mariebenedicte.com.

However, repair costs are charged if more work is needed, such as sanding out and polishing scratches, checking settings or re-knotting pearls.
