As a jewellery designer and goldsmith in Ghent, I create with my label Marie-Bénédicte Jewellery Design colourful, luxurious and timeless jewellery that perfectly matches the wearer's personality. Since 1995, I have been designing and forging unique pieces with passion & craftsmanship, crafted from high-quality and durable materials.
My jewellery is distinguished by the unique combination of special colour stones and naturally coloured pearls, designed for people with a strong, quirky style.
In addition, I also make custom-made jewellery for special moments: pièces uniques, engagement rings, wedding rings and commemorative jewellery. Each handmade piece of jewellery carries deep emotional value and tells a personal story.

Exclusive wedding rings made with love and precision
My gold wedding rings are always designed in your size, in my signature style. Do you want something unique? Fancy colour diamonds, precious stones in special shades or natural pearls give your ring an extra personal touch. For the gold, you can choose from 18ct yellow gold, 18ct white gold or 18ct rose gold. An engraving - a date, a word or a meaningful inscription - also makes your rings even more personal.

My wedding rings are specially designed for those making a deep, conscious commitment later in life. Maybe you are marrying for the first time, maybe you are celebrating a new beginning - whatever your story, your rings should match who you are and what you feel. Timeless, stylish and with a soul.
For a personal discussion of your wedding rings, I am happy to receive you by appointment at my stylish boutique in Ghent. Each design is made by hand in my workshop. Sometimes I even go looking for that one unique gemstone, a salt-and-pepper diamond, a fancy diamond or a special pearl especially for you.

Celebrate love, celebrate your story
To complete your wedding look with bridal jewellery such as elegant earrings, a beautiful necklace, a stylish bracelet or a few cufflinks I will be happy to give you personal advice.
A wedding brings together not only the couple, but also close or distant relatives. For the bride or groom, it is also a day when mum gets to share the spotlight. Indeed, the mother of the bride/groom plays an important role at the side of daughter or son on the big day and also likes to treat herself to a unique set of earrings, a bracelet, a necklace... to mark this event and cherish it forever afterwards. It is therefore with great pleasure that I offer my personal design skills to immortalise this mother-daughter or mother-son bond.
Love for pearls & gemstones
My jewellery designs are characterised by the frequent use of naturally coloured pearls, colourful natural gemstones and natural diamonds in fancy colours.
Pearls are often mentioned in the same breath as gemstones but they are really two separate materials.
Pearls are formed in fresh or salt water in the mussel while gemstones are formed in the deep earth's crust.
From the very beginning, I have incorporated pearls into my jewellery creations because for me, with their velvety sheen, they have something sensual.
Pearls symbolise subtle elegance. In my work, I like to use gemstones and pearls in unusual colour combinations to create a contemporary 'look'. My favourites are greenish Tahitian pearls, pink Edison pearls and champagne-coloured South Sea pearls. But in my gemstone collection I have much more, think rare ultra-black or blue Tahitian pearls, for example.
The love for gemstones arose for me at a slightly later age.
Whereas previously, in my collections, I used gemstones as small accents, gemstones now take a prominent place in my work. My penchant is for pink tourmaline in all shades, but be sure to be tempted by my extensive collection of bicolour sapphires, ametrines, rutile quartzes, opalised wood, emerald, topaz, fire gems, multi-coloured tourmalines and so much more.

Recycled gold
Have a new piece of jewellery made with your old gold? You can!
Do you still have gold jewellery in your closet that you cherish but don't like (anymore)? What about that beautiful gemstone from grandma's brooch?
It is my pleasure to transform your old gold, gemstones and possibly pearls into a completely new and timeless jewellery design, with endless possibilities. Find inspiration at bespoke jewellery design.
Give your old gold or your old jewellery - that you no longer wear - a second life. And thus contribute to the upcycling of your jewellery.
Your old gold is always tested and examined in my boutique first in front of you.
This old gold can be remelted into new contemporary jewellery in my recognisable style. Or the old gold (old jewellery and gems) you bring in will be purified and then reprocessed in my workshop into 18ct in your desired gold colour.
An additional option is to use your old gold as currency. Your gold will be weighed and calculated based on the current gold rate. With this amount, you can immediately purchase a jewel from my collection. This way, you give your gold a new life and enjoy a beautiful jewel!
Conflict-free diamonds
Also important: the diamonds and gemstones used are conflict-free. They comply with UN regulations and are certified according to KPCS, Kimberly Process Certification Scheme, which fights conflict diamonds.
From now on, it is also possible to preloved, antique and fair diamonds into your jewellery.
I get the fair diamonds from a master cutter who works with the Congolese cooperative PAMBI. This cooperative focuses on agriculture and artisanal diamond mining in the Kasai to create jobs for the local population. The mined diamonds are exported via Kinshasa directly to Antwerp where they are cut.
Pearls
Pearls are cultivated under good ecological conditions because if nature is not clean, the mussels do not survive and the harvest is lost.

With their unusual colour combinations of vibrant gemstones and naturally coloured pearls, they create a contemporary and unique look time and again.
These gold rings, with their striking colours, can be worn both casually and on special occasions and add that little something extra to any outfit.
The Coup de Cœur rings are inspired by the 'Toi et Moi' rings.
'Toi et Moi' rings are made with two stones set side by side without ever touching and on the same ring. Historically, these stones were of equal size and shape, but contemporary designers play with this design.
Instead of two identical gemstones, a pearl and a gemstone are used to give it a contemporary twist.
One of the first Toi et Moi rings mentioned in jewellery history is that of Napoleon Bonaparte, he offered his first wife, Josephine de Beauharnais, a beautiful 'Toi et Moi' ring.
